The party planner? It's Yana from Sweetheart Studio. Anyone interested to hire her? Haha...


I decided to give my first go at making red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I must admit it was a total failure but it's still edible though. Kan kawan-kawan?


For the deco, I made the birthday banner out of doily and tacked it to the wall using Faber-Castell Tack-It. 
I got the fake orange flower for RM3.90 at Mydin and put it into a milk can (tin susu krimer manis). The picture was edited and printed by me. I let go one of my favourite Ikea frame at home and I even borrowed my colleague's chalkboard as a deco items. I'm a chep-o like that.


The foods? Salty home cooked meehoon by Dee (dah kawin pon masin lagi, anyway TQ! Sila masak lagi!), Big Apple Donut and "Jajans".

Hope you enjoyed the party. I hope our friendship will remain forever,Insha'Allah. Like you said I was like your big sister. 
I'm honoured. To the rest, thanks for making it possible. 

Looking back at the picture made me realized that I'm the oldest. OMG!

Of birthday and wish list

I have 1 thing in common with Catherine Middleton. Yep, you read it right. Me and Kate Middleton. 


She turned a big 3-0 on 9th Jan and so do I this coming May. See, I'm not joking. We did share 1 thing in common. 


While she could have all the things under the sun for her birthday, I could just shut my eyes and dream that these would be my birthday presents this year. And that do not involves high end brand like Piaget, Christian Louboutin or Dior for that matter. =p

Update: I got none of these for my birthday. But, I'm not complaining since all these were not relevant for a pregnant lady. 
1. Spectacles -Pregnancy isn't a great time to invest in a new pair of glasses.
2. Eye makeup - I didn't wear makeup now. Let alone my must wear makeup, mascara. 
3. Watches - This 1 is ok. Sadly, nobody gave me this. Sobs.. sobs.. sobs..
4. Heels - It's a no no for pregnant woman unless you are Victoria Beckham.

Diyana & Pyan's Wedding

My ex-colleague, Diyana got hitched with her beau last Friday. She and her husband are 10 years apart, got to know each other in very short time and after Diyana's painful break up. Isn't it amazing what a love can do? *Kalau sudah jodoh.

Dee wore a gorgeous dress tailor made for her, had a beautiful 'hantarans' and 3 cute flower girls and 1 handsome page boy during 'bersanding' (another flower girl and page boy were missing in action). My daughter was 1 of the flower girls. I thought she's too young for a flower girl when the other flower girls were 5 and 8 years old. She did a great job and I was so proud of her.

Congratulations Dee and Pyan on your wedding. I pray you have everlasting love and happiness. May Allah bless your union abundantly.

Psst: I made myself that lace patch on my dress. Not bad for a first timer eh?

My Makeup Routine

This is totally random subject in my blog post. And a random subject is actually very interesting and easy to share in a blog. Who's with me? 

So today I'm making a debut on the other subject -  MAKEUP. Simply because I love makeup.  Makeup to me is to enhance one's features and also as a booster of confidence especially for a working lady. My makeup routine is very simple and it involves the followings:

1. Make Up For Ever HD Foundation 
    - This is my first over the counter foundation. The 3rd foundation I ever have in my life.   I'm not wearing it everyday.  I use it for special occasion or whenever I feel like. It gives you light to medium coverage for that perfectly natural looking skin.


2.  MAC Studio Fix 
     - The best 2 way foundation of all time. Hands down.

     ZA 2-way Foundation
     - My substitute to MAC Studio Fix.  *Sayang lah nak guna MAC hari-hari.


3.  MAC Eyeliner (I can only find picture of Revlon eyeliner)
     - I like MAC Eyeliner because it runs smoothly, the colour is intense (i use black) and I have a shaky hands to ever use gel or liquid eyeliner. 


4. Lancome Oscillation Mascara
    - I swear by this product. I use it everyday. Pricey! But worth every penny. Enough said.


5. Lip Ice Sheer Colour
    - I don't wear lipstick. I've only been using this product since late 2010 but not on everyday basis. I have a fear of lipstick. I had never worn/own bright lipstick until I saw someone wearing it (in a blog) and finally bought myself a bright red Sephora lipstick. I think I'm lovin' it. 


6. Loreal Paris Blusher.
    - Nothing special about this blusher. I can wear any type of blusher. It is a must have item in my makeup bag. I have a very round face and blusher adds cheekbones to my face.

I feel so blessed having you as my daughter. I always wanted a girl as my first. When my hubs and I were at the gynae's office to find out the sex of the baby and found out it was a girl, I was so happy. Tears rundown my face. Allah answered my prayers. My hubs was actually hoping for a boy but he was okay as long as the baby is healthy. There are many reasons to be happy for having a girl. I absolutely cannot imagine not ever having a daughter. That was literally all I longed for in life and I was so thankful to Allah for that. 

Mother of girl, do you feel the same as I am?

Selamat Menyambut Raya Haji

As a refresher (to myself):

Raya Haji = Eid-ul-Adha = the Day of Sacrifice

"It is a celebration to remember the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his first born, Isma'il to Allah"

It is a time for us, Muslims to learn the value of self-denial by making sacrifice (for those who can afford to) of something living to Allah to show our commitment, obedience and self-sacrifice to Allah.

sick is not cool

October is a sick month.



My husband, myself and my brother (who is staying with me) all got it one after another.  


Here is the chronological of event of our sick October.


7th October - First my husband and my brother were down with fever. 


9th October - My brother was admitted to the hospital because of Dengue. Dengue hit badly in my housing area. There would be a fogging taken place every morning and night.


10th October - I started to get chills and feverish. I showered and went ahead to the office by the way.  As I was talking to my Boss, I started feeling cold then hot then cold a companied with a headache. I went to the clinic and doctor gave me MC that day. 


11th October -  I couldn't get up from the bed but still I need to see the doctor to get my MC. My temperature was 39 and doctor gave me MC for two days. I didn't have any symptoms of Dengue. My father came from hometown and brought "Crab Soup" for my brother. Not a regular crab but Ketam Nipah. Crab soup is said to increase your platelet and cure dengue fever.


12th October - I rested at home. I have no appetite at all since the first day of fever.


13th October - I went to the office and decided to see the doctor again when my colleagues notices that I'm sick and says to me " You should think about calling the doctor's office to find out if they think you should come in. My eyes were red but I felt nothing wrong with it. Doctor took a blood test and gave me MC and also referring letter to the hospital in case the test came out positive for dengue or viral fever.  She asked me to wait until noon. Luckily, the result came out negative for Dengue. I decided to stay at the office since it's already 2 p.m but did nothing at all. 


14th October - My eyes were still red and I feel pain on my right cheek. I went to the office as usual and my Boss give me permission to go back early. While I resting that day, I finally found out that I had infection on my wisdom tooh after some "googling". Thanks Mr. Google for the info! That night I started feeling pain on my gum and cheek. Later in the evening my brother was discharged from hospital. 


"An infected wisdom tooth can appear to be a common problem, because most people do not have enough room on the jaw for this kind of tooth to erupt.  Wisdom teeth have a high probability of developing abnormally, which dentists call an impacted wisdom tooth"

15th October - My right cheek swollen. I hurriedly met a dentist and she found out I had an infection in my bottom right wisdom tooth and because of it my face was swollen. She asked me to take medicine to reduce the swell and and also antibiotics to clear up before schedule for removal.

20th October - My wisdom tooth finally removed. It was painful I tell you. I feel like screaming and crying when the dental surgeon made the incision into my gum. Yes, local anesthesia was given but I still can feel the pain. I can not wait to end the session. My mouth hurt. The extraction requires stitches. Arghhh..... it was the most painful experience I had with dentist and also painful for the wallet. It costs me RM700.60.  After 1 hour, the procedure completed. I couldn't talk. The gum was bleeding and I had to bite on a roll of gauze for several hours, no until night.


I headed home and as I was lying on the sofa, my husband texted me and said he was admitted to Prince Court because of appendix. He asked me to send his clothes. That night he went for an immediate surgery. As I felt very weak to drive, I had to wait for my brother to brought me to the hospital. Me and my daughter slept on the sofa bed in the ward that night. My gum still bleeding.


21st October - We just resting in the hospital. I'm craving for nasi. I only can eat something soft and cold either from the fridge or room temperature. 


22nd October - My husband finally discharged from hospital. Alhamdulillah. He was given a week MC to rest. 


As I wrote this I still feel a little tingling and throbbing pain on my gum.  My husband trip to Japan today is cancelled due to medical reason.


There goes our October. So, no sewing updates from me even though I really miss sewing.  My beautiful fabric sitting pretty on my table waiting to be sew.

Fresh Start to Year 2011

Happy New Year to everyone! Welcome 2011.


I can't remember if I ever wrote a new year's resolutions in my entire life. To start the year off fresh, i decided to make a New Year's resolutions. 


I made long list of goals in 2011 and here's portion of that list:-


1.  Lost weight - ya i know it's typical resolution that most women have. Hey, who cares!
2.  Cook frequently - this make me nervous. I'm actually the type of person    who doesn't really like to cook.
3.  Spend wisely - i.e. stop using credit card.  I only have 2 credit cards left. 1 is in my purse and 1 is at home. In the purse must be out.
4.  Blog more frequently - which means fresh start to sweetheart biz. This is very tough to me since my jobs keeps me pretty busy but I'm determined to make it happen.
5.  Get more organized - at house and in the office.
6.  And maybe get pregnant for second child - well, i'll think about it.


There goes some of my goals for 2011.  For personal spiritual goals I save it for myself. It's very personal to me.


I wrote all these in my personal planner I got from Starbucks.  I collected 12 stamps to get it.  Thanks to few of my colleagues who contributed the stamp to me.  

 I have a feeling this is going to be a very exciting year. 2011. I am ready for you! Lets bring it on.

Busy, Busy, Busy Me!

I cannot believe it's already 23rd Dec. No new post for almost 2 weeks. I've been busy with office works that leave me exhausted to update this blog.



I'm just so tired I can't go into sewing these past weeks. But I got a lot of inspirations; from blogger land to shopping malls,for sewing project to home decorations. Stay tuned!
