Sweetheart Studio Tour

Warning! This is going to be the longest post ever.

I promised to share with you my sewing room tour since last April. Yes, it was about 2 months ago. After a lot of hard works the room finally completed. Yes, completed in my own term.

Let me present to you "sweetheart studio". I hope you enjoy the tour and your feedback/comment is almost welcome.

My sewing table is actually a console table. I bought it from furniture shop near my house.  I did buy a Micke Desk from my favorite furnishing store IKEA, but it was disappointing. It curved down in the middle due to sewing machine weight. It is now used as my study table. Please keep your eyes off the hanging wires in the picture. I blame the stupid contractor for that. The room has no ceiling lamp until now. Sigh.

The 6 boxes are from IKEA which I used as an extra storage for random things that I rarely used. Oh, did I tell you that almost 90% of the things in my studio are from IKEA? =) I love IKEA because they are chic and sometimes cheap.  I didn't bought all of it in a short period of time. Mind you! I'm not that rich.  It was accumulated since my bachelorette years.

You can read about my pink sewing machine silhouette HERE. My sewing machines and serger are both from Brother. Sewing machine was a gift from my dear hubs. I bought the serger myself. I love these two gadgets. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to sew as a hobby.

Sweetheart Studio is also a shared room with my lovely daughter. All the framed artworks and picture are meant for her.

The table is used as a cutting table. The green cheap-o drawer is destined to be in the room.  I actually wanted to give away the drawer to my parent house in the first place. If you have this drawer, just remove the stickers in front of the drawer and it would look OK.

I love my storage cabinet. It' s Billy Bookcase with the door attached. I bought the door recently so I can keep all my lovely fabrics inside and safe from the dust.

Can you believe it? The tin storage are found in Mydin. Very inexpensive! I put the label up for easy identification. You can download the label HERE.

This is Raisya's favourite spot.  Mirror is from Carrefour, while the chairs were thrift find from kindergarten in my hometown.

I hang the containers on the rod behind the door for Raisya's to play with it. You can find this items at kitchen section in IKEA.

Since I have no space anymore in my house, the wardrobe is happy to be in the room. My dream to have sofa bed in here is vanished for now. I love how everything is coming together.  The room is completely what I dreamt of. I feel like spending my times in here all day long.

So there you have it. The most favourite room in the house right now. Please click on the picture if you want to have a better view.  If you are wondering the name and source of each items, do tell me!

Little project for a 'short' weekend

As-salam and weekend greetings all.  Just to let you know that we are finally moved in to our new house. Alhamdulillah.  We have now been in our new home for 2 weeks and still arranging things.

I always in stress mode thinking that everything was supposed to come together all at once. But after being a follower to this great blog, I agree with them that this whole process of house decorating is a process that will change and evolve over time. After all this is our own house, so we have to take it easy.

By the way, I want to show what I brought home today. It's awesome! It's really turned out as what I imagined.

In case you are wondering what is this, it's a wall deco that I plan to hang above the sofa. I bought the white stencil-like plastic thing at SSF, Jalan TAR. It's come in set of 3.  As usual, being creative myself (?) I bought along a velvet like fabric at Kamdar (at home furnishing section) as its background and got it framed at a frame shop near my house. I keep the other one until we'd be able to buy a new sofa which I expect it to be much longer than the existing one.

So for now two is enough!

Note: I still haven't hang the curtain around the house.  The power drill that I borrowed is not powerful enough to get through the wall ( at the beam).  Anyone knows who can get the job done here in Cheras particularly around Bandar Sri Permaisuri, please? I'm stress!

I'm Baaaaaack!!!!

Hi!  Many apologies for the long absence. I've not gone missing, but just have been really busy and tired.  Tired of work which I won't bore you with the details.

Remember I told you that we are moving to our new house. Yes, finally we got the key. We have less than a month to do minor improvements to the house before we move in.

Google Image

We don't expect to make the house as we want it to be in less than a month, but at least comfortable enough to start with. Here are the basic plans: -

1.  Painting (including doors and ceiling).
2.  Wiring.
3.  Hanging curtain rods.
4.  Extend kitchen wall**
5.  Plaster ceiling**

Note: ** only if time and money permits ~sigh~

I will share with you our journey to transform our own little house into a place we call home.

As I said priority to be given to my studio (sorry dear hubs, if you read this) and hopefully I will be getting back into the swing of things I plan for my dearest 'sweetheart' really soon.

Home Sweet Home

We will be moving to Cheras next year. To our own little house. Though i have plenty of decoration plans/ideas for the house, i'm a bit hesitant to leave Kota Damansara.

I love KD for so many reasons. Its near to Mutiara Damansara which houses Ikea, Ikano, The Curve, Tesco and Cineleisure.  Its very well-connected and makes shopping a breeze. KD itself is well-connected through NKVE and DUKE highways, which makes 'balik kampung' easier and faster.

Oh, I'm not loving KD just for the sake of shopping. Shopping mall is not a reason for my hesitation. I just couldn't believe that I will say goodbye to my babysitter. My hubby and I never had a problem with our babysitter.  Raisya too. I don't know if i can find somebody like her.

Back to my decoration plans, lotsa inspirations can be found at www for our little house.

Our existing sofa is purple in colour.  Since we're in tight budget, we will keep the sofa. I just need to put small pillows like the image found at Design Sponge and Juicy Bits to spice it up. Just find a good print and voila!

For the bedroom, I'm inspired by this image found HERE. Most of the things are thrift finds.  How clever!

All of the areas to decorate, definitely my sewing room is my first priority.
I have been dreaming to have my own sewing studio which will only be fulfilled once i move to our new house.

Here some of the images which makes me cry, literally. Cry out of jealousy.
