Baju Kurung Pahang

My friend aka my colleague, Mimie asked me to sew 'Baju Kurung Pahang' for her after I've sewn two for my other colleagues. 

She gave me somewhere in the middle of October (if i'm not mistaken). She said she wanted to wear it during Eidul Adha. 

BTW, before i continue, sewing for adult is not my cup of tea. I take order like this because i don't want to turn them down. I prefer to sew for little ones since it's easy. I am not a seamstress by profession. Plus, my sewing skills in traditional attire is very limited. Remember this post. I learned it for about three months only. The rest comes naturally to me :p

So continue with the story, being tired/lazy myself, i kept putting off sewing this baju until today. I just finished sewn the baju sans hand stitches on the hem. I thought of sewing the skirt until late of the nite. But my shoulder asked me to stop. Sorry Mimie!

I doubt my measurement skills. I hope it fits her perfectly. Like Raisya's 1st Baju Kurung. I made it for her 1st Eidul Fitri celebration last year. She was 5+ months. It's a scrap fabric from my baju raya. Haha, there goes matchie matchie.

Multi Purpose Case

What do you want to put in the case? To me, I have no idea yet.  I'm very tempted to use the fabric even i have no specific idea to go with the fabric yet. I ended up making this case. Case like this is very easy to make.  If you're  an experienced sewers, you can make many of it within a short period of time.

I think i want to put my make-up or my zippers, or my  bias tape or small meds like vicks, minyak yuyi, calamine cream etc. See. I can't decide. Or should i make more of it. Anyone want one?

Sweet Strap Dress

Isn't it sweet? Sweet like caramel.  I made this dress from a very cheap fabby found at Nagoya, Jalan TAR. What i don't like is the iron-on patch that i put onto the dress. It makes the dress really cheap-looking to me! The patch was bought at  Flea Market The Curve at not so cheap price of RM11.  Emm...I should have keep it for other projects ~sigh~

By the way, look at the face of the dress owner. She seems very happy with her new dress, right!  BUT, look at the face below.  The 'i don't want to be a model at 7.15 in the morning and pose in front of fridge' face. Hahaha. Poor little darling being forced to model her momma's creation.


On another point, quality of the pics makes me scream for new camera. DSLR? 



Fabric Shopping

I'm craving right not. Nope. Not for ice-cream but for fabric.

Fabric shopping makes me happy.  

Fabric shopping pushes my stress way.

And this is my latest collection of fabbies.

Cute japanese cotton fabrics i purchased through

online store called Fabric Fanatics.

I bought 3 yards of cotton and linen just to test the water.

I've feel and I've used designer fabric before but not japanese linen.

 I think i couldn't find it anywhere in our local store.
I think it makes cute gathered clutch since its thicker than cotton.
Maybe I can use it for my first giveaway
to a lucky reader of this blog (if there is any!) :D

Clutch for Me!

I can spend many hours blog hopping at night, 

when my baby sleeps.

The time which i can actually use to do something productive

instead of going 'ooh' and 'aah' over others blog.

After several nights of blog hopping, 

i decided to make this clutch for myself.

It is a very easy to follow instruction and you can do this in 1-hour time.

I purchased the fabric at Bandung during my visit there in Nov '09.

There were plenty of fabrics called 'Katun Jepang' in Indonesia.

I managed to buy a lot of cotton because of the price .
I didn't bother to check the name of the fabric at that time 
as long as its cute to my eyes.

As i was cutting the fabric to make the clutch, 

i was shocked to see it was Alexander Henry Fabric 
"my secret garden"  collection.

Wow! This must be crazy. I want to go to Bandung now.
